Upon my arrival in the evening before SensAbility, I
was welcomed and hosted very friendly by a WHU student. On Friday morning, the
conference opened at 8 AM with a tasty and extensive breakfast. Invigorated by
fine muesli, we started the day. At 9 AM, Patrick Mijnals started off
SensAbility with a keynote speech about his development into a social
entrepreneur. My appearance with the foundation of the brand Lycka began at
2:30 PM at the SocialPitch in front of a well-staffed jury consisting of
Tengelmann Ventures, eCapital, and ISSO. Following this, we seized the
opportunity of letting the participants taste our new Lycka Frozen Yogurt with
active support of the SensAbility team. Lycka is a 100% natural bio frozen
yogurt that supports Welthungerhilfe (World Hunger Aid) with a fixed amount per
cup. Overall, we gave out 200 portions of Lycka collecting donations of well
over €50 for Welthungerhilfe – thank you very much for your support! With a
delicious gala dinner at the Vaulted Cellar of WHU, we all enjoyed the end of
the evening together in relaxing atmosphere.
On Saturday morning, it started for me with a short
interview for the Chair of Entrepreneurship at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of
Management. Afterwards, I gave a workshop about financing with 15 participants.
I hope the participants will keep the workshop in good memory – for me it was
fun, at least. Next I went on directly to the speed dating.
At the speed dating, I met a lot of interested
students that would like to work with the Lycka team. We received a couple of
specific applications and find ourselves in conversations with the applicants
right now – this is, of course, a great value added for us. The quality of the
applications is really good, and we hope to actually win some new staff
members. On top of that, we came to know people willing to help us to make
Lycka more popular – we will elaborate and draw up something on this matter and
get back on all interested people soon.
Overall, SensAbility was a very successful conference
where we’ve met a lot of people getting involved in sustainability. We were
inspired, for instance, by a participant’s question why we didn’t upcycle those
fruits shortly before their date of expiry for our frozen yogurt. I am still
stuck for an answer, and we are dealing with this topic now. We would love to
come again anytime and are looking forward to next year (if desired by
SensAbility).
A big thank you to the dedicated organizing team
and best regards,
Felix
